The bridge spans 152 feet across Loyalsock Creek. This beautiful covered bridge brings visitors to the town of Forksville, Pa population of 170.
Although the Burr arch trusses are supported by steel beams, the state has deemed weight limits. The state has issued a sufficiency rating of marginal, begging for a major overhaul. Traveling west from Route 154 and heading to the Forksville General Store,





Please keep in mind that you are in rattlesnake territory.
I was impressed with the maintenance of the bridge built in 1850. and by the Forksville supervisor, 18-year-old Sadler Rogers, who used his hand-carved structure model. It served as the site of a stream gauge from 1908 to 1913 and is still an official Pennsylvania state highway bridge.
This was a delightful stop in the quaint town of Forksville, PA.
If you happen to stop by when they are open, you can stop at Big Mike’s Steak and Hoagies for a meal. It is right next to the covered bridge, making it a nice lunch stop.





I can’t vouch for the meals, as I stopped by on a Monday.
