Tribute to Freedom
Lackland Corridor, San Antonio,TX
"Tribute to Freedom" by San Antonio artist George Schroeder, in collaboration with local landscape architect Larry Hicks, is comprised of five metal forms representing the five branches of the United States Armed Forces: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy. The artwork is located at the southwest corner of West Military Drive and Highway 90 near Joint Air Force Base Lackland at San Antonio.
The serene and reflective artwork reaches 75 feet into the sky and is easily visible from Highway 90. At night surrounding lights reflect the beauty of the metal art piece drawing one’s vision to it as it reaches toward the night sky.

Parking is available nearby and a walking trail allows one to stretch their legs and enjoy the local natural habitat.

This structure and greenway are accessible to anyone no matter their limitations. However, I note many homeless frequent the local intersections so you many want to be aware of your circumstances (not that I have any issues with these people or their circumstances however, I wanted to note this in the event you do.)
